Vanishing Point explores the meeting place of music, memory, and emotion where sound transforms, fades, and lingers in the imagination. The program begins with Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, whose shifting colors and textures evoke light, reflection, and movement. Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata follows, its tender lyricism and graceful lines breathing with warmth and song. The journey culminates in Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata in G minor, where intensity and nostalgia intertwine before dissolving into silence. Together, these works trace the arc of how music is felt, remembered, and ultimately released reaching toward the vanishing point where sound and emotion become one.
